Ø Myanmar President, Htin Kyaw resigns
Ø Myanmar’s President and
Aung San Suu Kyi’s right-hand man Htin Kyaw stepped down after two years in the
position. He has resigned due to ill health. Htin Kyaw, 71, was sworn in as
Myanmar’s official president in 2016 after Suu Kyi’s National League for
Democracy (NLD) party won landmark elections.

Ø Mauritius President Ameenah
Gurib-Fakim has resigned. She resigned after being embroiled in a scandal over
the use of a credit card to buy luxury personal items. It has been alleged that
Gurib-Fakim made personal purchases, buying jewellery and clothing using a
credit card provided by London-based Planet Earth Institute.
Ø Tata group Chief Ethics Officer Rajan

Ø Tata Son’s Chief Ethics
Officer Mukund Rajan will leave the group to evaluate entrepreneurial pursuits
in the coming months. Rajan, who was the former MD of Tata Teleservices, was
appointed as the group spokesperson and brand custodian in February 2013.

Ø Slovenian Prime Minister
Miro Cerar has resigned. He resigned after a court annulled the result of a
referendum in the latest blow to his crisis-hit government, months ahead of
planned elections.
Ø Slovak PM Robert Fico resigns
Ø Slovak Prime Minister
Robert Fico and his government resigned. Slovak President Andrej Kiska accepted
the resignation. He has resigned because of the political crisis triggered by
the slayings of an investigative journalist and his fiancee.

Cabinet, Suresh Prabhu given additional charge
Ø Civil aviation minister
Ashok Gajapathi Raju and junior science and technology minister YS Chowdhary
have submitted their resignation letters to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This
follows Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley’s observation that the Centre
cannot offer special status to Andhra Pradesh. The President of India Ramnath
Kovind has on the advise of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, directed Commerce
and Industry minister Suresh Prabhu to take up the additional charge of the
Civil Aviation Ministry.

Prasad submitted his resignation from the post of chairman of the junior
national selection committee. Prasad, who cited personal reasons for stepping
down, has worked as the head of the committee for 30 months.
Ø Mukul Sangma tenders resignation as
Meghalaya CM
Ø Mukul Sangma submitted his
resignation from the post of Meghalaya Chief Minister. Sangma submitted his
resignation to Meghalaya Governor Ganga Prasad in Shillong following the
assembly election results.
