director Madeeha Gauhar died of cancer. She was 62. In 2006, Gauhar became the
first Pakistani woman to be honoured with the prestigious Prince Claus Award
for her leadership of Ajoka.

Oldest Person passes away at age of 117
Ø
The world’s oldest person, a
117-year-old Japanese woman named Nabi Tajima had passed away. Tajima, born on
Aug. 4, 1900, was the last known person born in the 19th century. According to
the U.S.-based Gerontology Research Group, another Japanese woman, Chiyo
Miyako, is now the world’s oldest person.

multiple National Award winner Bhimsain Khurana had passed away. He was 82.
Khurana was known for films like “Gharaonda” and for iconic animation shorts

Justice Rajinder Sachar passed away. He was 94. Sachar, who was Chief Justice

in Delhi. The Padma Bhushan awardee from Shimla was 94. He was honored with the
Padma Shri by in 1972 and Kalidas Samman by the Madhya Pradesh government in
1986. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 2010.

away at 88. He was awarded the prestigious International Editor of the Year
